Single as a Pringle?

Let’s face it. The only thing worse than seeing February 14th approaching at high speed on your calendar is the dreaded reminder that you are once again, single.

Minglin’ is hard work. Is your date going to be worth it? Or would that packet of chips and a movie on the couch have been a better option?

Fear not.

As curator of all your chocolate dreams, Doc.Choc has gone ahead and planned the perfect night in that’ll remind you love starts with yourself.

Be courageous. Be sensible. Be the sort of person you’d fall for.

Be a Kenyak Chocolate Lover.

Less sharing - more caring

Doc.Choc here.

You know what I hate? Sharing. Share food? Not for me. I grew up with a brother doing Triathlons - I want my dinner, all of it.

Okay, sharing isn’t so bad, but have you ever delighted in an entire box of chocolates on valentines day? I have, it’s a mood. In the spirit of caring for yourself, here’s my two solo date ideas to keep you busy and in love with the OG (yourself) this February 14th

  1. Chocolates and Sunsets

A warm summer evening, (they are literally endless in Tasmania, the sun doesn’t set till 9:30 here) - your favourite tunes playing softly in the background, and a delicious spread of your favourite Kenyak Chocolates.

Why not grab a blanket, head to the nearest beach, gum-tree, or even your backyard, and savour each piece of chocolate while the sun sets over the horizon? Bonus points if you manage to leave your phone on do not disturb.

As the sun dips, you’ll realise… this is the only romance you need

  2. Blue Skies

Tasmanian specific, sorry not sorry mainlanders.

Dust off your wide-brimmed hat and head to Hartz for a walk amongst the birds and the bees. You’ll soon realise not everything comes in two’s. Take a moment on the third clearing to sit and take in the Tarn. Maybe even take a dip?

Throw your head back in the sun, let the endorphins rage on-in. Crack a bag of Honeycomb. Take your time, admire the crunch. Ain’t nobody coming to steal it from you.

I say skip the summit, turn back at the rocks and take a second dip at the lower lake on your way back. You only live once, and it’s far too beautiful up there to let the moment pass.

A magazine or poster featuring a woman with dark curly hair, wearing large hoop earrings and ornate jewelry, with a dramatic expression. There is a box of gold-wrapped chocolates or gold bars and a wine bottle partially visible nearby.
A wooden pathway leading through a bushy landscape with mountains in the distance and a partly cloudy sky with the sun shining.

  • Valentine’s Day is just one day in the year, but self-love is for life. Own it, savour it, and remember: you’re never truly alone when you’ve got yourself—and a stash of delicious chocolate.

  • Our Chocolates are delicious, but don’t leave them in the sun. As summer kicks on, we recommend selecting Hot Weather Shipping at Checkout, and keeping an eye on the temperature in your house. If it get’s warm where you are, put everything in the fridge in a sealed container.
